This is my favorite place to buy books. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I teach elementary school in another state. They ate always happy to help me in person, through email, or overt the phone. Its an amazing place to visit and shop.

As good as they come with regards to independent bookstores. They have a great number of signed 1st editions, and a regular influx of authors doing book tour stops. It helps that there's a community of erudite readers in Oxford that supports a gem like Square Books. Make sure to check out the sibling branches, e.g., Square Books Jr., which is one of the best kid book stores (IMHO) I've seen anywhere.

We're lucky to have such a beautifully curated children's bookstore in town. There are few places like this left anywhere and between the play area for kids, weekly storytime, and fantastic selection of books and toys, I'm as excited to visit as my kid.
